Here’s how to find and use the various collections at the Tae-Joon Park Digital Library
New Arrived Shelf
- Location: Central atrium and surrounding area, 2nd floor
- Content: Newly acquired books from the past year, organized by subject.
Curation Shelf
- Location: Central atrium and surrounding area, 2nd floor
- Special Collection: Display of award-winning literature, literary collections, POSTECH specialized materials (popular science & science fiction), travel books, and poetry collections.
- Display Shelf
- Section A: Books by POSTECH faculty authors and the 100 Recommended Books (semi-permanent collection).
- Section B: Media recommendations selected by librarians.
- Section C: Pohang City’s “One Book, One Pohang” selections and book curation Shelf with various themes and topics that change every 3 months.
Magazine
- Location: Window-side area near the terrace (MAGAZINE Zone), 2nd floor
- Content: General interest magazines arranged alphabetically by title.
- Usage: In-library use only (not available for loan)
- Digital magazines are available via the “Moazine” subscription.
Multimedia Collection
- Location: DVD Zone, 2nd floor
- Content: A variety of DVDs including films, music, and documentaries
- Usage: Items can be borrowed using the self-service DVD loan/return machine.
- Loan Limit: Up to 3 items per person
- Loan Period: 5 days
- Availability: Available for outside loan (POSTECH members and associate members)
Book Collection
- Location: monograph shelves, 3rd floor
- Content: Various monographs, including specialized books.
- Usage: Self-service loan and return using the automated machines.
- External users who wish to access materials are advised to contact the circulation desk on the 2nd floor.
Mueunjae Kim Ho-gil Donated Collection
- Location: Kim Ho-gill Memorial Collection Room, 3rd floor (Closed Stacks)
- Content: A total of 1,328 titles (1,889 volumes), including the research publications of Dr. Kim Ho-gill, POSTECH’s founding president
- Inquiries: Circulation Desk, 2nd floor(054-279-2551)
Journal collection
- Location: journal shelves, 4th floor
- Content: Journals on various subjects
- Current Issues: Displayed on shelves around the Plora reading area.
- Back Issues: 449A
- Usage: Available for in-library use only (not available for loan).
- Over 36,000 international academic journals are available in electronic format.
Reference Collection
- Location: shelf 463, 4th floor
- Content: A wide range of reference materials, including encyclopedias, dictionaries, and yearbooks
- Usage: Available for in-library use only (not available for loan)
Master’s and Doctoral Dissertations
- Location: shelves 466 – 47*, 4th floor
- Content: POSTECH master’s and doctoral dissertations.
- Usage: Searchable via the library website.
- Printed copies are available for in-library use only (not available for loan).
- Full-text dissertations with open access are available for download both on and off campus.
Electronic Resources
- Content: A wide range of electronic resources, including e-journals, e-books, and databases
- Access: Available through the library website
- Access Range: Accessible via campus IP or by logging in with POSTECH credentials
- On-site Access: Public PCs are available on the 2nd and 5th floors of the library
- Note: Excessive downloading or non-research use may result in restricted access
