Purchase Request Guide
POSTECH Library provides a desired material purchase request service to support research and learning. Please be sure to check the following for a smooth application process.
Before Applying
Check for Holding Materials
Please make sure to check through the library catalog search whether the material you wish to request is already held by the library. Materials already held (including e-books) will be excluded from purchase.
Availability of Purchase
The purchase of requested materials will be determined based on the library’s budget and material selection criteria. In some cases, purchases may be restricted due to budget or material characteristics.
Accurate Bibliographic Information
If bibliographic information such as title, author, publisher, and publication year is inaccurate, it will be difficult to purchase. If necessary, please check on sites such as Amazon or Kyobo Bookstore before applying.
Requesting Multimedia Materials
For multimedia materials such as DVDs, please add “[DVD]” or “[Multimedia]” before the title (ISBN information is unnecessary).
Purchase Procedure and Time Required
Time Required for Purchase
Approved materials take about 10 days for domestic materials and about 30 days for international materials. However, depending on the publisher’s situation, there may be delays or difficulties in obtaining the materials.
Material Organization and Priority Loan
Once received, materials will be available for use after going through classification and organization processes, and the requester will be notified for priority loan.
Order Status Notification
You will be notified by email about the order and arrival status of the requested materials. You can also check the availability through the library catalog search.
